Sannam chilli—also known as 334, S4, or occasionally S10—is one of the most widely recognized and highly demanded red chilli varieties, valued for its rich aroma, distinct flavor, and balanced pungency. Nearly 50% of India’s chilli production comprises Sannam dried red chillies, highlighting its strong presence in both domestic and international markets.
Sannam chillies are available in two types: with stem and without stem, both of which enjoy significant export demand. These chillies are extensively used across global cuisines, including Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, and Indian dishes, due to their versatile heat profile.
In India, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are the primary production hubs, with the Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh being particularly renowned for producing the finest quality Sannam chillies. Medium-sized and moderately hot, Sannam chillies are also appreciated for their health benefits, as they help promote digestion, appetite, and healthy blood circulation.
